The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Council Sub-Committee on Research promotes APP-led research, scholarly activities, innovation, and collaboration across departments. It supports ongoing professional development through mentorship and continuing education, while also maintaining a centralized research database. Operating within the APP Shared Governance Structure, the sub-committee fosters intra-departmental partnerships and cultivates a culture of scholarly inquiry and evidence-based practice.
Monitor and remain informed of institutional best practices for conducting research at UVA Health.
Establish and promote standardized best practices for APP-led research to ensure consistency across clinical areas.
Facilitate effective communication, support cross-department initiatives, and enhance visibility through institutional engagement.
The Research Committee is led by the APP Council Research Chair and Co-Chair, in collaboration with the APP Clinical Director, APP Council President and Vice President, a representative from the School of Nursing, and the Nurse Scientist at UVA Health. Committee membership is composed of voluntary advanced practice providers who have a demonstrated interest in research and scholarly work.
